sentatives of the Oregon legislature
today adopted senate joint memorial
calling for aid from congress to dc-.

ington and northern California. This
memorial was proposed nt a confer
ence of representatives of port dis
tricts of the three stntes in Portland
last week called by Governor Waller

Women would be compelled to ob
tain hunting and fishing licenses' as
well as men tinder an amendment to

committee also suggested that dis
abled soldiers, sailors and marines be
permitted to hunt and fish without li
censes. Expenses to Be Met
The house suspended rules lo pass
house bill number 110 introduced by
the ways and means committee to
meet sundry deficiency expenses of
the state. The bill calls for approxi
mately $133,000. It covers, among
other matters the cost of recon
structing certain buildings destroyed
at the penitentiary by fire in 102.1.
A board of regentB for the stale
school for Hie deaf and the state
school for the blind would be created
by a bill introduced by Senator Cor

The board would he composed of
seven members. These would be the
state superintendent of schools, the
