guests, and as the balloons were
broken, cards fell out announcing the

Following the business meeting of
the Ladies of the G. A. K. last Sat
urday afternoon at the post rooms
of the armory, an interesting pro
gram was given for Inembers of the
circle, and for all comrades and their
wives. Robert and Ruth Clark gave
recitations, Miss Molntyre gave an
instrumental solo, and Lorraine Wal
lace entertained with a whistling
solo. Following the program the an
nual Christmas tree of the group was
held with presents for all.
In the late afternoon hours, a de
lightfully informal buffet luncheon
was served with the following com
mitttee in charge: Mrs. C. J. Buley,
Mrs. Irene Orton, Mrs. Mary Lind
ley, Mrs. Ethel Plnnk, Mrs. Louise
Harrison, Mrs. McDowell. About
forty persons enjoyed the pleasures

noon, Thursday, December II. the
Lone Pine sewing circle gathered at
the home of Mrs. W. T. Brisbane.
After the regular meeting three boxes
of clothing were packed for the child
ren's home at Corvallis. In keeping
with tho holiday spirit a Christmas
tree with a gift for everyone present
was enjoyed. The remainder of the
afternoon was spent in conversation
and needlework, at the close of which
