"Seek ye first the kingdom of God. and his righteousness" and then follows the promise, "all these things shall added unto you." This is the order established by the Almighty. God comes first; when this relationship is properly estab lished, one seen things in thei rtrue proportion and is able to add all that man really needs to enable liiin to live on the high plane which an all-, wise ami all-loving Heavenly Father has prepared (for him. A Standlaa Rebuke The seventh chapter concludes the Sermon on the Mount. It begins with a rebuke that has always been need- ; ed and in needed by all: "First cast ; out the beam out of thine eye; and th'en shall thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye." If wp are strict with ourselves, we shall be so bumbled by our own short comings thnt we shall not be unjust, when we judge others. Then we have another illustration of the power of argument from the! less to the greater, and it is full of comfort: "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts untn your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" , Besides these, we have the warn ing against false prophttts, the distinc tion between the broad way, thronged with travelers, which leadeth to d struction, and the narrow way, found by few, which leadeth unto life. And we have the test of the tree, namely, the fruit that it bears, and the awe inspiring comparison bo t ween the, wise man who builds his house upon' a roek.Wl the foolish man who builds1 bis house upon the sand.. If one will take these three chap-! ters containing the Sermon on the Mount, commit them to memory, and follow their teachings, he will realize from them more practical benefit in dally living than he can gain from all the books thnt man has written. !
