Huge Still Taken In Tollgate Raid vln Eastern Oregon PENDLETON, Ore., Oct. 27. A. huge still and a large quantity of mash were captured late Saturday by two atate officers, W. F., Hoaklna and Leo Kelden near Tollgate, east of Pendleton, Five men were taken in the raid, three of them alleged gun men. Tbe men arrested in the raid were Frank Smiley of Walla Walla, his son- Kenneth Smiley, Henry Young, Frank Katoupe and Dick Law- ler. The last three have been opera t-fi Ing around Pendleton and Walla Wal la for aoine time, according to the of, fleers. Young had a loaded gun In bia hand when taken. Of cours, as with the other the atre attractions in Eugene tonight, It remains to be seen whether or not the advanco notices run true. It is be lieved that "Feet of Clay," however, will live up to Its reputation. "Open All Night" is the Castle's of fering. With Viola Dana in the lead ing role, the play scarcely needs fur ther recommendation. Adolpb Menjou nlana opposite, and has a part that proves a scream. Dr. Baade, German astronomer, has discovered an object of tbe tenth magnitude, and planetary in aspect, moving ao rupld- ly that he suspects it is a comet, says message from Copenhagen to the Greenwich Obaervatory. Should this prove to be true, the discovery would be of the greatest Interest because f tho proximity of the object's orbit to the earth. The coast guard cutter Tampa yesterday brought into Boa ton harbor, the New Foundland, two masted acbooner Marjorle E. Bach man, rum laden and five American motorboats.
