The old prune pack Is practically cleaned up. All co-operative stocks are gone. Already eastern brokers are trying to get their requirements purchased as they see a rising market ahead. Hope are easier, bidding 20c; the eastern market is lower st 2430c for 1923 coast crop. Hops. 1923 crop 2022c; contract 20 cents. ' Eggs Continue Rise. Extras, 37c, first 35c, pullets 82c, and current receipts a cent higher at 31c. Receipts are only fair with a brisk shipping demand. The poultry market is slow. Call for light springs under 1 3-4 pounds continues good with prices steady at 24 to 25 cents. Other lines are sluggish with heavy hens and ducks especially slow sell' ers. Butter is stendv and unchanged. Not much country dressed meat Is coming into the local market and Drices rule firm on good hegs at 141 to 15c. Veal is a little .easier with the demand lesB keen. . A 15c advance in sugar prices ef fective tomorrow morning has been announced bv local wholeaale houses, The new price on enne granulated will be $7 .10 a sack. Hazardous Skiing Shown in Picture So accustomed have movie audi ences become to. the staged thrills of the screen melodrsmss and the serial thrillers, that patrons of the Rex the atre are sure to extend a heasty wel come to "The Chase," booked as the chief attraction, today only, at that house. "The Chase" is full of a kind of thrills seldom, if ever before, put on the screen. - In addition, this triple feature Rex program introduces Victor Townley, the Canadian Caruso, ainging "O Sole Mio" and "I Could Not Keep From Laughing." The tenor makea two ap pearances today, tha first being t 3:30 nnd the night presentation oc curs at 8:55. The screen version of Peter Clark MacLaren's "Held To Answer," with House Peters, James Morrison and star cast, completes the bill which will be featured today only. 'Sawdust Trail' Is 'Hoot' at His Best If the Cniversol Pictures Corpora tion had deliberately set out to ex ploit the dramatic versatility of Hoot GihBon it could hardly have offered a wider range in story and thought and colorful atmosphere than the Gibson features of the past year. Universal has proved, as this Castle theatre's film proves, that it is un necessary . to present Gibson in straight westerns to put him over.- It has featured him in pictures which have very little of the western atmos phere, and the Gibson pictures seem to appeal more than ever. The ans wer is the star can act nnd fits into a variety of roles. His latest is "The Sawdust Trail," a William Dudley Pelley yatti. ' , , . Osrapsey Featured 1 ind on the same program will be shown another knockout, the king of champions. Jack Iempi.ey. in the first of his "Fight and Win" stories, mik ing the iggest double bill program ever shown in Eugene. I STATISTICS t o : O WYNN At the Eugene hospital.
