British Steamship Reported Aground; On Maiden Voyage BALBOA, Panama, Aug. 12. The steamship Lamnres on her maiden trip from a British ship yard, has gone aground off the Nicaraguan coast, says a wireless received here today. The cargo has been jettisoned and the ves sel Is lying quietly and not taking any water. A tug has been sent rrom here. Lakeview Sawmill Is Threatened Ey Fire LAKEVIEW, Ore., Aug. 12. The sawmill of the Underwood Lumber company, six miles north of Lakeview, is threatened with destruction by a fire which broke out late last night in logged-off land nenr the mill. A crew of over 100 men was fighting the fire today to save the mill, which is one of the largest in the county. The fire, which hns burned since last Friday in the hay and .meadow land of South Warner vulley, is un der control today after having burned over 7000 acres of hay lnnd and de stroyed more than 4000 tons of hay. A patrol is being maintained to pre- vont the flames from breaking over the trench lines. Miller, former county super intendent of schools, was killed by a dynamite explosion late yes terday afternoon at his home at Shelburn. Miller was preparing to blast out a well and had just entered a small Bhed used as a powder house when the blast occurred.
