At a meeting of tho Multnoinun

Senator Dan J. Malarky, who haB
been a receptivo cnndldnto for tho

Me siiirt that ho would consider It an
honor to bo elected president of the
senate, but that ho did not desire to
make a fight for the election or slanu

It was decided, therefore, to leave
the Bolcction of a candidate to the
senate delegation, and. It is reported,
tho delegation has decided to stand
back of Benator Selling and recom

his candidacy at tho next meeting,
which will bo held In a few days.
There aro several candidates for
tho speakership. One of Jerry HiiKk,
