DICK SMITH ARGUES
SUPREME C URT CASE
Salem, March 31. Arguments
were heard in the supreme court to
day In two cases, Oliver vs. Klamath
Lake Navigation Company, and State
vs. G. B. Whitney. The one-time foot
ball star, 'Dick" Smith, appeared for
the appellant in the former case.

Harrishurg, March 31. Mr. and
Mrs. J. A. Steward and Mr. and Mrs.
F. Li. Steward and family left this
mornine for their old home In Minne
sota. They have lived north of Har
rishurg for about six years and will
be greatly missed by their friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Mahon will leave
for Astoria in the morning, where
they are going to make their future
home.
Mrs. C. A. Pryor and family ar
rived today from Eugene and will
visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
A. M. Pryor.
The property just opposite the liv
ery stable, which belonged to Dan
McClain and was listed with the
Pryor-Canter Co., was sold Tuesday
to R. A. Githens.
The postoftice is now established
in the Holt building and the new
quarters are a great improvement
and Postmaster Morris is propor
tionately grateful.
The building vacated by the post-
ornce has been rented by Wright
& Marguth and will be used to house
their auto' stock and other machines.
J. R. Cartwright returned from
Newport on the 1:30 today.
A. J. Hill returned home today
from a trip north.
