izens of Eugene who have assisted, us
in our work while in the eity.
The society Is non-sectarian in its
organization and work. It rescues
homeless, neglected or abused chit
dren in the. state and provides suita
ble homes or employment for them.
Personal supervision is given each
child by the society until such time as
its legal' commitment expiree- The
aim of the society Is to. assist the
child In becoming an honorable and
self-supporting citizen.
On account of the crowded condi
tion of the receiving home we are
very much in need of homes for the
children, also funda to assist in their
support.
Any further information can be
obtained frum the Lane county advis
ory board, viz.: Messrs. J. M. Wil
liams, Darwin Bristol, L. E. Bean
and, Mrs. Geo. Kelly.

road, Dec. 22, 1908, at the age of
78 years, Mrs. Christina Winzenried.
The cause of death waB old age. She
leaves two daughters. ,Mrs. Charles
Knoop, living near Eugene, and Mrs.
John Scherler, ot Creswell. The fu
neral will 1e held Thursday and the
remains will be Interred in the I. O.
O. F. cemetery. Rev. J. S. McCallum
will conduct the services.'
