1 Bert Kelsay, a Creswell youth, who
! pleaded Rullty to the charse of per
! Jury a tew days ago. was given a
' parole sentence to the penitentiary
ot three years by Judtre Hums thin
1 morning. He gave the boy a good
1 lecture and stated that he allowed
him his liberty on the condition that
: he keep out of trouble hereafter. The
Judce stated that If he was found
' Intoxicated at any time, frequented
saloons or was caught in any crime
during the three years ho would go
to the penitentiary to serve out full
time. The hoy went to Portland to
; work, his father. H. S. Kelsay. hav

1 a team at J5.00 a day.

Af'er the evidence was taken the
attorneys for Linn made a motion
that the jury he instructed to return
a verdict of not guilty. The motion
was sustained and the verdict was
accordingly.
The Jury In the case of the state
vs. Zaclt Parsons, accused of selling
liquor on a second count, returned
a verdict of not guilty this after
noon ut one o'clock after lulling
been out several hours.
