THREE LITTLE BOYS
FREEZE TO DEATH

death in snow that covers the high
peaks north of the Canta Clara val
ley, Wednesday nlghl, the bodies of
three Santa Paula boys were found
late todav after a search of two
days. The boys, Clifford Tharp, 17;
Cuba Thurp, 9 and John Bines. 13,
started out Thursday morning to see
the snow. They went without coals
intending to be home In time for
Thanksgiving dinner. When night
came auJ they had not returned, the
community was ntotlflcd hut minting
could be done until daylight. Friday
morning searching parties were or
ganized, everybody joining, even to
two gangs of Japanese In borers, and
the search was kept up all day. To
day Henry Newman and W. Hamlin
found the bodies at tne neau 01 um

Paula. The boys hud evidently got
ten into deep snow, became exhausted

The fathers of the boys are well-
known ranchers.
