INDUSTRIAL SCHOOLS MEET
Atlanta, Ga., Nov. 19. Page after
page of the Piedmont hotel register
are filled today with the names of
recognized leaders of thought in the
United Stales. The;' are delegates to
the second annual convention of the
National Society t';- the Promotion
of Vidustrial Education, which will
hold its missions in this city during
the remainder of this week.
The society was organized at a
meeting hf.ld In Cooper Union, New
York, in November, 1906, and the
first annual convention was held in
Chicago a year ago. 7 he organiza
tion now has a thousand active mem
bers throughout the United btates.
State branches have been organized
in Pennsylvania, Georgia and Massa
chusetts, and branches in Ohio, Con
necticut, Rhode Island, Alabama,
Virginia and several other Btates are
in course of formation. State com
mittees have been organised in thir
ty states, and, as they Increase in size
will become branch societies.
A notable banquet has been arrang
ed to v.:h-3r In the convention to
night. Carroll D. Wright, president
of the gaiety, will preside, and Gov
ernor Hoke Smith will act as toast
