committee, which is a most unusual step, have ;
inference that the meeting is called to take ;
the idea of preventing Emperor William from :

Lots of Men,
mjBuying
Clothes are,
not half particular enough
about quality; they'll buy al
most anything that looks stylish
and fits if the price is low.
It's the wrong way to buy
clothes. We hope you don't buy
yours that way. The right wtiy
is to be sure first of the quaiity
you are getting. Is it all wool?
Is it well tailored? A price
means nothing unless you know
what you are getting for it.
In thi3 store we want you to
know what you are getting for
your money; we're not afraid to
tell you, either. Ask if the goods
are all wool; ask if they are
tailored right; ask about
style; wear; try the clothes on.
But if you see the Hart,
Shaffncr & Marx label in the
clothes, just consider it an an
swer to your question ; all wool ;
clean, honest tailoring; correct
style; wear; price will be right.

The rescuers worked heroically to reach their companions,
but at 1 o'clock the fire had gained such headway that they had
to be called back to give way to the firo fighters.. The flames
are still spreading and the vicinity of the mino is surrounded by
police, the people not being permitted to approach it. Thero are
heart-rending scenes among the relatives and friends of the
miners gathered outside the police cordon.
A total of 35 bodies had been brought to the surface up to 4
p. m. this afternoon and there is no hope expressed for tho threo
hundred men still below ground.
The salvage corps, armed with apparatus to supply each man
with oxygen, is now endeavoring to penetrate the mine. Theso
are the same men who went over to Courriores, Franco, in
March, 1000, and rendered such valuablo aid in tho frightful
mine disaster there.
