after practice last nlg.1t. From state

of the gridiron ggne at me Univer

The game that now looms up the
biggest Is the one with" tho Idaho
team next week, and Qile Middleton
sends out reports fnat his team is
not doing well, little credence Is given
the reports here. However, the Ore-
Oon squad is learning the finer points
of the game and tomorrow s exiHiri-enc.-;
against Willamette will be it fair
way for Hie f'glH f'r Hie honors o
the Xorthwest.
The men are in good condition,
thanks to tl care of the trainer, al
though the practices th week have
bo'n very strenuous. Clarke's kick

fie getting n better fori'i for hand
ling themselves.
JIcKinley, the clevr Imckfield
man, is improving from his injury,
and "Sap" Latourette is able to move i

Hawkins, a Portland boy, is having a
show with the first souad. He is
speedy, and promises to develop nito
a man ot power.
Hawley Captain
Earl Hawley was elected Captain of
the second team last night. He plays
half on his sound, and one year got a
chance in the Multnomah game at
Portland in "Wreary Chandler's po

The line-mi will be as follows: Half
