LANE COMITY HIGH
Gg SCHOOL PLAN POPULAR
Many CounQes Adopt System
T : .. j tut : Al.An Jw
Taking u up
The "Lane county plan" for coun
try hlnh school organization, vg5jc'n
was explained in the September fttlm
ber of the University of Oregon Bulle
tin, has aroused 4 great deal of in
terest toward the organization of
county high schools In all parts of Or
egon. Requests for Bulletins and in
formation are being received by the
iniversity reg!strur in lir'jn num
CLrs. The "plan" is so simple and
works so admirably In actual practice
that there is little doubt that the
niOber of high schools in the state
will be more than doubled within a
Comparatively short time. It makes
possible bettor high schools in the
larger towns and the establishment
of others in the country districts
where none have existed, obviating
the necessity of sending children
away from home to school if their
education Is to continue above the
eighth grade. One of its many ad
verts. '8 ls'fhat IaiO' bodies of valu
able land, timber and other, owned
by non-residents and corporiAfons,
which have alweys escaped taxation
for school purposes, ace made to pay
their full share. JalifTiQrnd Marlon
counties are already taking up the
plan, where It Is being strongly agi
tated, and It will be voted on rt the
November election, and the matter is
being strongly talked of In half a do
en other counties.

AN OI'EX LETTER.
To the Editor nf The Gunnl nnd I
Want the People to know Hint I
write the Following Voluntarily.
Hurry L. Goodlel.
I write these few lines out of grati
tude for what Mi-o-na has done for
me fof dyspepsia and Indigestion.
I have suffered for the past five
years and ave tried different doc
tors, but have no relief until I
bought a 50 cent box of Ml-o-ua from
our drug store (Hull's Red Crws
Drug Store) here a short time ago.
The first box did me so ia)iich good
that I immediately purchased anoth
er one, and I now feel better than 1
have at any time in the past fite
years. Am able to eat anything and
everything, and get a good night's
sleep afterwards.
Was so bad at one time that all I
was able to eat for over a month was
a raw egg In a halt a glass of milk,
two or three times day.
I wouoi earnestly advise anyone
suffering as I was from dyspepsia, to
give this remedy a fair trial. I remain
gratefully yours, Harry L. Ooodrlel,
No. 9 River.St., Astabula. O.
Ml-o-na Is the only logical dyspep
sia remedy on the market today. It is
not a digester, it does not contain a
particle of pepsin. It cures by build
ing up the muscular walls of the
stomach, and making the stomach so
strong and perfect that It Is able
without artificial help to digest an
-ordinary meal with ease, and with
out discomfort.
The experience of Mr. Good'.el Is a
common one, and it Is safe to say
that Mi-o-nai tablets have cured more
acute and chronic diseases of the
stomach than any other medicine.
Hull Drug Co. sells It at 50 cents a
oox ana guarantees It to cure or
money back.

The
General Demand
of the Well-informed of the World has
always been for a simple, pleasant and
efficient liquid laxative remedy of known
value; a laxative which physicians could
sanction for family use because its Wm

wholesome and trtdy beneficial in effect,
acceptable to tho system and gentle, yet
prompt, in action.
In supplying that demand with its ex
cellent combination of Syrup of Figs-and
Elixir of Senna, the California Fig Syrup
Co. proceeds along ethical lines and relies
on the merits of t laxative for its remark-,
