John M. Clark, a member of the
cabinet of Prince Edward Island and
a prominent figure In public life In
that province, was horn in Bedeque,
P. E. I., October 8, 1805. After com
pleting his education in the public
schools he entered commercial life.
His public career did not begin until
1904, in which year he was elected
to the provincial legislative assem
bly. He soon became recognized as
one of the best debaters in the house,
making himself master of his sub
jects, and presenting his arguments
fluently. Mr. Clark has been conspic
uously identified with the temper
srncn movement, and has been one of
the most determined supporters of the
prohibition law which was Introduceu
into Prince Edward isianu u.v urn
present government.
