One of the annual attractions at
Cottage drove 'hereafter Is to
county ir district fair. Plans were
perfected for the-annual exhibition
of the livestock, poultry, fruits, farm
liroducts. minerals, and manufactur
ed articles of southern bane and nor
thern DatiKlas counties at a meeting
of the Collage drove merchants in
the Commercial Club rooms Wednes
day evening. Grounds were leased
for a term of years, plans submitted
for the necessary buildings, officers
elected and various committees ap
pointed to direct and carry to a suc
cessful conclusion the various de
partments of the fair, the first an
nual exlimiblt of which will be held
this season about the middle of the
coming .November, the exact date to
be fixed at a meeting of the commit
tees next Tuesday evening.
While a lltle late for holding the
fair this year, there Is ordinarily very
good weather here up to Thanksgiv
ing time, and owing to the fact that
commodious buildings will be pro
vided, a Utile rain will not seriously
interfere with the success of the oc
casion. Defore another season rolls around
a race ccnrse will he secured and thf
n.iual fal 'a-.'ractlons provided. This
first cxhibl:. therefore, will be more
of a produce and livestock show, or
carnival, than a fair, owing to the
lateness of the season.
