Albany, Sept. 24. A big fruit
cannery for Albany is assured bv the
action of the Albany Commercial
Club last evening. The club agreed
to pay half the purchase price of the
site for the plant, which will be erect
ed by 11. .1. Moores, of Albany, and
11. S. Giles, of Salem.
The proposed plant will have a
capacity of 10.0011 cans of fruit and
will be In operation in time to han
dle the crop of fruit next spring. It
is planned to steadily enlarge the out
put until a capacity of lO.ono cans of
fruit Is realized. The cannerv will
devote its work to fruit exclusively.
Moore has been planning for tlie

time, and appeared before the Com
mercial Club last evening with a
