FASHION,
The best of these Wooltex garments is the way they wear.
There is no cotton, no adulteration in them. Every thread
is pure wool. This standard of cloth can be obtained in no
other garments but Wooltex, and the style is there to stay.
It is put there by skilful needle-work stitch by stitch.
Beside the two styles shown here you will find suits, skirts
and coats in pleasing variety garments for young and
old, including

I Portland
The morning paper, with an old.
ante-dated linotype and an old drum
cylinder Cottrell press with a speed
of 1000 an hour, talks about having
a better plant than The Guard, which
has a new Model 5 linotype, the lat
est out, a two-revolution Cranston
newspaper press, about twice as large
and twice s fast as the Register's,
and other facilities necessary for a
modern plant. The morning paper
moves its old junk Into a new loca
tion and brags about It. while The
Guard, with a plant already twice as
good, will double Its capacity when
it la located in new quarters in the
near future, a splendid double-decked
linotype, Whltlook press and much
other material having already been
purchased and Is now awaiting ship
ment in San Francisco and Portland.
That ought to tell the story of
growth and business. The Guard Is
not spending $8000 for additional
equipment, when It already has the
best plant In Oregon south of Salem,
just for the sake of spending money.
We need It in our business.
As to taking the building vacated
by the morning paper, we simply pre
ferred It as a. newspaper building to
the Garrett & Mitchell building, into
which the morning paper has moved,
and which has been named the Reg
ister building. It might have been
called The Guard building, this paper
having had the refusal of it for some
time before the owners leased It to
the Register. It is a good building,
but did not meet our requirements
in Its Interior arrangements, and for
that reason alone we surrendered our
option, as Messrs. Garrett & Mitch
ell, who are thoroughly reliable gen
tlemen, will Inform any one who cures
to know about the transaction.
The Guard will not only occupy
the rooms vacated by the Register,
but will have the floor above, and
many improvements will be made in
the building, making It one of the
most convenient and the largest print
ing offices in Oregon outside of Port
land. Before long we will be able
to Invite the public to Inspect one of
the finest printing plants, both for
style secrets of
