TIIAX FOR AXV YEAR. IX HIS
TOHV OF fllflHil.
Last night the fourth quarterly
conference of Humphrey Memorial
Methodist Episcopal church waa held
In the main auditorium of the church.
The reuortB from aii departments In
dicated that the church has had an
other phenomenal year. The
church la steadily growing In mcm-
lier and In Influence In the commu
nity. Since the coining of the pres
ent pastor, Hev. D. H. Trimble, less
than two years ago, mure nun onu
neratinB hHve united with the church.
The pastor's report showed that after
allowing for removals by letter, loss
bv death and applying the disciplin
ary rule of marking those removed a
your without letter as removed, thai
the church has made a net sain of
over "0 per cent in memuersiiip in
the two years Just closing.
The money raised for local church
expenses, sucii as pastors salary,
deaconess, miiHlc, Janitor, etc.. will
exceed by $2000 last year's rerord.
which was till then the highest mark
the church had rearhed. The sum
reached for local church expense will
total about $. 0 this year. In ad
dition to this the Ladles' Aid will
raise upwards of $5110 during the
year.
The benevolences or the cnurcn
will ulso reach and probably pass
last year's high mark. On the whole
It has been the best year In tlie his
tory of the church, and everybody
connected with the church is happy
over the vital and growing condition
of the organization.
The pastor and deaconess received
a hearty and unanimous invitation
to return for another year, and reso
lutions are to be submitted to lilshop
Hughes to that effect.
