San Pedro, Sept. 6. The Bteam
schooner Shna-Yak. Captain Mutton,
arrived here today from Port Had
lock, and reports that on the after
noon of September 1 she went on
dangerous rocks nt Point Arena, in a

dense fog. but was saved from de
struction by the prompt work of the
officers and crew. Captain Hutton
ordered the deck lashings cut and
three thousand feet of lumber was
JettlBoed, carrying several of the
crew to sea with It. Goats were low
ered and all were picked up.
