ing of the athletic managers of the
3 50 I Diversity of Oregon and the Oregon
Agricultural College, held yesterday
afternoon, a contract was signed
whereby the annual football game be
tween these two institutions will be
played in this city on Saturday, No
vember 1 of this year. Arangements
have been made, with the Multnomah
Club for the use of Multnomah Field
on the above date, and plans are now
being perfected . whereby excursions
will be run to the game from Eugene
Corvallis and Albany.
From present Indications the com
ing game between the two big state
schools will be one of the greatest
athletic contests ever seen in the
Northwest. .Expert football, men be
lieve that Oregon and O. A. C. -will
have the strongest teams In the
Northwest this season, and that the
game here on November 21 will set
tle the championship. O. A. C. won
last year's game by the score of 4
to 0, and there Is a feeling at Fn-

ho and Washington. Should both
teams win their preliminary games
the match on ..November 21 will be
one of the most Important athletic
events in the history of Pacific coast

now In California, whereby they will
spend two weeks in Eugene prior to
the O. A. C. game. Rockwell plaved
quarter at Yale for four years, and
was head field coach In 1906, and
Morse was captain and left end of the
1905 team at New Haven. With this
trio of Yale stars the Oregon players
ought to be well coached when they
line up against their Corvallis rivals.
Oregon expects to begin the sea
son with six veterans Moullen, cap
tain and left guard; Mclntyre, right
guard; Scott, centre;, Pinkhani, left
tackle; Coleman, left end, and Clark,
fullback. ..Glllls. centre and guard

last year. According to reports from
Eugene there will be a fine lot of
football material In the freshman

According to the terms of a con
tract signed yesterday, the fneshmen
of the University and O. A. C. will
play In Corvallis on October 31. This
will be the first freshman intercolle
giate game ever played In the North
west, and will no doubt attract wide
spread attention.
