WEDS MISS PORTER
! London. Aug. 14. Sir Mer.-lk Dur

ter of Walter Winans. formtriy of
Hultimore, lias ventured into lnatri-
j iiiuiiv again. Today he was married
to .iiss Porter-Porter, a beautiful
girl belonging to a Sussex family of
. nolo.
It was only last October that the
matrimonial troubles of Sir Merrick
iand his beautiful and well-dowered
I wife attracted notice on both sides
; of the Atlantic. After a sensational
trial, In which the baronet charged
I his wife with having run away with
j Captain Henry King of the Royal
i Horse Guards, a divorce was granted
to the injured husband. The wife,
according to evidence, left not only
her husband but her three children
behind in her flight.
' Sir Merrick is a very good-looking
young fellow and universally popu
! lar, and his many friends trust that
his second marriage win prove nap
pier than his first. He is one of the
few Englishmen of title who married
American heiresses who cannot be
charged with having wedded r.r
monev. Thoui-h the father of his
American bride, Mr. Winans, is Im
mensely wealthy, Btill It Is to be
doubted if his fortune Is equal to
that possessed by the young baronet.
The mother of the latter was a daugh
ter of Sir Robert Loder, who left
a fortune of some $311,000,000, of
