TJTOR almost everything you buy, including the common
necessities anu me expensive iuauucs, nun. iuoiuiu
to automobiles.
The one marked exception is lumber, which can be bought vl
cheaper today than for many a year past and is retailed in
Eugene in many instances for less than wholesale prices.
This means that your dollar will buy more now than at
any other time and this is therefore the time to spend it.

where the eyes cross, the external
muscle is at fault; thus allowing the
eye to be pulled toward the nose
by the Internal rectus muscle. And
where the eye turns out the internal
rectus muscle is the weak one.
This Is a trouble generally thoug-ht
to be out of the range of the Refrac

a small extent. For the advancing
knowledge of the eye It has been
found that in young people , by
means of certain exercises and spec

eyes can be corrected without an op

successful with the children. I have
seen, personally, many cases of
crossed eyes become perfectly strait
crossed eyes become perfectly

In rases of many years standing a
slight operation must be performed
on the affected muscle by an Eye sur

This subject is not really in the do

always be referred to the surgeon.
All competent Opticians and Ke

A Cateract is an afrection of the
crystaline lens. It loses its trans
parency and become opaque so that
no light ran pass through it to get to
the retina, consequently the eye is
blind, or nearly so. A cateract Is
not as Is commonly supposed, some
thing growing over the eye. This
opacity may be very slow In forming
and people having cataracts orten are
not aware or it until years arter It
first starts.
The development of cateracts var
ies in length of time, sometime they
niaiure in a snort time, then again
years may elapse before they reach
maturity, which Is necessary' before
an operation ran be performed.
The person with a cateract is more
fortunate than many others for thev
know when the cateract is ripe it
may be removed by the surgeon, and
then the Hefrartionist will viva tatn
