A quiet wedding took place at the
home of Louis Hexter, Portland, Ore
gon, on the evening of Sunday, J.uly
19. when Miss Cella Lurch, of Cot
tage Grove, was married to Jas. Mc
Creadle. of San Francisco, Cal. The
ceremony was pertomed by Rabbi
Bloch, of Portland. The drawing
rooms were handsomely decorated
with sweet peas and palms. The
bride Was dressed in a gown of white
silk lace and wore a veil. She car
ried a bouquet of white sweet peas
and maiden hair fern". After the cer
emony an elaborate dinner was served
In the dining room. Mr. and Mrs.
McCreadie immediately left for a trip
to Victoria, B. C, and the Sound cit
ies, and will make their home in San

othy Boynton, niece of the bride
acted as flower girl. Following the
ceremony a wedding breakfast was
served in the dining room, which was
prettily decorated with roses and
greens.
The bride, who is a sister of Mrs
W.P. Boynton, is a graduate of the
University of California, and since
her graduation has taught with
marked success In the High schools
of iRedding and Redwood City, Cal.,
where she has a host of friends. Mr'
Holmqulst is a graduate of Stanford
University, and Is now connected
with the United Gas and Electric Co
of Redwood City. He will probably
be the nominee of the Republican
party in his district for the State As
sembly next fall. The young people
took the Flyer for Portland that eve
ning, and after a short tour will
make their home In Redwood City

Harry Leppert will leave next week
for Indianapolis, Indiana, where he

time. He will take up the studv of
music. He will be greatly missed by

Two separators were unloaded here
Wednesday. One was for the Liber
ty neighborhood, headed by Winn
Dyer and others, and the other for
Long Tom, with Cox-Kobinson and
others as owners. These machines
are for private use. although custom
work will be done nfter the owners
have cared for their . grain. The
threshing season will therefore be.
brief on the west- side of Northern
Lane, as three new machines have
been brought into the neighborhood
this season.
It was reported here Monday fore
noon that William Hugglns was
drowned in the Long Tom at Mon
roe below the mill Sunday evening
and his body was recovered Monday
morning.' During the afternoon
"Bill" stopped at this office and in
formed us that he was not drowned.
Mr. Hugglns was a pretty lively in
dividual to be drowned the evening
before. He informed us, however,
that he had a pretty close call last
week. He is the owner of a rather
vicious Holstlen bull and-while lead
ing him out the bull struck him
admldships and knocked him into the
middle of next week on the next
field, he was not quite sure which.
He was not serlojisly Injured, how
ever, but he will not take any more
chances with his bullshlp. Times.
