EUGENE IEAM
BREAKS EVEN
ON SERIES
The Canipbell-Kelltuan aud SpririB
1 field baseball teams broke even In
the series of games for Saturday and
Sundav. The Springfield team won
the game on Saturday by a score of
6 to 7. O'Brien, the pitcher for Eu
gene, had the Indian sign on the
ispriiigfielders, and would have eas
'lly won the game had he been prop
erly backed up.' Costly errors at
: critical times by Wilson, Moshberg
uc Weed, Murphy and Saiilh, count
ed for runs that Springfield was not
I entitled to. Even with these errors
! Eugene was entitled to the game
! when Kestley of the Springfield team
'went over the coaching lines to third
base and wearing a gray uniform
like the uampoeii-reuiuitii leuui, was
mistaken for a thrld baseman of the
team. This accounted for two runs
and when the runner was ordered
back he refused to obey the umpire
and Springfield threatened to with
draw If the umpire persisted in his
decision. Rather than disappoint the
spectators. Umpire Graham allowed
the game to proceed. The worst fea
ture of the game wasthe loud chew
ing match put up by some Springfield
players at the umpires aeeisions. ,
In the Sunday game, at the end of
the Oth Inning, with the score 6 to 5,
the Springfield bunch ' refused to
abide by their own umpire's decision,
and the game was declared forfeited
to Eugene by a score of 9 to 0.
The teams are very evenly
matched, and If it would be possible
to eliminate the rag-chewing in
dulged in by some of the mill city
players,' Eugene will- see some good
jiase ball this season and will give
the team support. There will be no
more games with Springfield till
some other arrangements are made.
r&xt game will be played between!

he streets have just been nicely graded and the sale of lots is
brisk. Many people are buying the very choicest residence lots
at lower prices than will ever again be offered in Eugene.
People are waking up to the unusual advantages of BLAIR
STREET ADDITION.
Do you realize what an investment in this addition will do for you? How can it avoid ad
vancing ill value with these lots lying right against the built up district, and where the
city is certain to get its greatest growth? Let one of the agents named below take you
out there. You don't need to buy if you don't want to, but we think you will want to after
you see these fine lots and know about the easy terms you make your own termsyou
may have. Better not wait; the other fellow is getting busy and it's time you acted, before
all are sojd. There are only twenty lots and two acre tracts left.
