Rev. Herbert S. Johnson, son of
President Johnson, a boyhood resi
dent of Eunene. a eraduate of the

prominent church in Massachusetts,

mon on Sundav morning at 11
o'clock In Villard Hall.
The special music during com
mencement, will be better than last
year, when that part of the program
reached the acme of success at the
University of Oregon graduating ex
ercises. Special musicians will be
present. Owing to ill health. Kath
arine Ward Pope, head teacher of
vocal music at the University, will
not be able to appear.
New Music Faculty.
Marv G. Morgan of the Slate Col
lege for Wompn In Mississippi, has
been obtained bv the musical depart
ment to head the faculty for the
piano during the comlne year. She
Is a teacher with an established rep
utation. William S. Sherwood, the
authority who makes his home at
Chicago, considers her ability very

Miss Kva Stlnson will he back to
fill her old position as vocal teacher
after a vear's studv In New York.
Mrs. Schnecker and Mrs. Katha
rine Ward Pope will not be available
for the next year. Their work has
been very successful. All the other
members of the faculty. Mr. Ciesner.
Miss Cample II. Miss dua. kenlmsh
and Miss Watkins will keep their
pres. -nt positions.
The musical department will
probably be moved from Its present
'home In the dormitory, lo some other
structure on the campus.

Lost Valley, June 15. An accident
which rame near proving fatal occur
red last Monday at tho home of Mr.
and Mrs. Andrew Miller, when their
little- two-year-old baby Bwallowed

Mr. Williams, of tho Divinity
School, addressed the people of Dex
ter last Sunday.
Miss Vesta Jacobs went to Ashland
last Tuesday. She will remain there
during the summer and attend the
summer school.
Dr. Scnrbrough was called to the
bedside of Mrs. K. M. Johnson last
Tuesday. She Is not Improving at
the present writing.
The neighbors are forming a beef
club. This will bo O. K.
Every one la netting ready to com
mence haying as soon, as tho sun

Regular prayer meeting and choir
practice have been established to
meet Thursday evenings.
