The
General Demand
of the Well-informed of the World has
always been for a simple, pleasant and
efficient liquid laxative remedy of known
value; a laxative -which physicians could
sanction for family uso becauso its com
ponent parts are known to them to be
wholesome and truly beneficial in effect,
acceptable to the system and gentle, yet
the election of senators by popular
vote resulted, ayes, 114; noes, 86G,
thereby defeating the plank.
The adoption of the resolutions was
by viva voce vote, no voice being
raised In the negative.
Nominations Matki
The next business was the presen
tation of the names of candidates for
president. The nominations were by
states In alphabetical order. The
clerk ran down the list of states and
there was no response until Illinois
was reached.
Then Representative Boutelle took
the platform to nominate Cannon
Enthusiastic cheers were himhed by
Boutelle holding up his hand for at
tention. '
Just as Boutell commenced his ad
dress Chairman lodge handed the
gavel to Senator Heyburn, of Idaho.
The mention of the name of Can
non was the signal for the uprising
of the Illinois delegation, but the
demonstration was short. During his
speech cries of "time" came from the
Impatient galleries.
Fordney made the seconding
speech, which was brief, but did not
escape interruptions from the galler
ies. "Indiana," called the clerk and the
delegates from that state were on
their feet with cheers for. Fairbanks,
but the applause was practically con
fined to the Iijdlana delegation. Gov-

In supplying that demand with its ex
cellent combination of Syrup of Figs and
Elixir of Senna, the California Fig.Syrup
Co. proceeds along ethical lines and relies
on the merits of the laxative for its remark
able success. ,
That is one of many reasons, why
Syrup of Figs and Elixir of Senna Is given
the preference by the Well-informed.
