ed in an alarm and the chemical en

time. A stream of chemicals, soon
extinguished the blaze, and there was
little damage to tho roof. During the
evening before the chimney at' the
residence had burned out, and it Is

Yesterday was annual memorial
day for the Modern Woodmen .of
America, and fitting exercises were
held by the local camp. At 2:30
o'clock in the afternoon 75 or-80 of
the members met. at the hall and
rode to the I. O. O. F. cemetery,
where the graves of the departed
neighbors, five In all, were decorated
with flowers and the ritualistic ser
vices of the order were carried out.
A committee was Ujen appointed to
go to the Masonic cemetery to deco
rate the grave of Neighbor Paul
Green.
In the evening the Modern Wood
men met again and proceeded In a
body to St. Mary's Episcopal church,
where an excellent sermon was deT
llvered by the rector, Rev. P. K.
Hammond.
