step should be towards the treatment of

trouble is due to a diseased condition of
the kidneys aud bladder and not to a

Women as well as men are made miser

RHODODENDRON
FIESTA AT FLORENCE
A BIG SUCCESS
L. E. Bean and W. W. Calkins re
turned on last night's stage from
Florence, where they attended the
rhododendron festival Wednesday,
May 20th, and Incidentally looked
after their polltk-al fences In that vi
cinity. They reflort the festival a
splendid success, the weather being
pleasant, rain falling on the day pre
vious and the day afterward, but
none on that day. The rhododen
drons were at their best and the town
was lavishly decorated with them.
The streets were fitted up in a splen
did manner for the occasion and the
people of the little seaport city did
themselves proud In making the af
fair a success. Miss Laura Johnson
was crowned Queen Khododendra )y
Joaquin Miller, he Poet of the Si
erras, who was there with his broth
ers, Geo. Molvln Miller, of Eugene,
and James Miller, of North Yakima,
Wash. The mayor of the city made
a very pretty speech as he. presented
the keys of the city to the queen, and
Miller spoke on rhododendrons. John
Hartog, manager of the-Eugene Com
mercial Club, made the principal ad
dress of the occasion, which is highly
spoken of by those who heard it.
