SIDEWALK TO MASONIC
CEMETERY ENTRANCE
The city authorities have ordered
a fix-foot sidewalk built from the
south end of Alder street, near the
Manuru rosldence, to the Masonic
cemotory, about a half a mile distant.
Tho walk will bo built on the west
side of tho street as far as East
Nineteenth street, where It will cross
to tho other side of the street, and
proceed to the Kate' leading to the
cemetery. Chief of Police FarrlriK
ton has notified the property owners

three hundred thousand dollars In

thereof, up to the hour of 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, July 7. 1 90S, and that said
proposals will be opened and consid

That the city of Eugene proposes
to sell tho said three hundred thous
and dollars of water' bonds to the
tiignest bidder therefor In denomi
nations of from one hundred to one
thousand dollars, as the purchaser
may desire; that said bonds are to
bear Interest at the rate bid, not to
exceed 5 per cent per nnnum; said
Interest payable semi-annually on
the first day of July and January of
each year from their date until paid;
that said three hundred thous
and dollars of water bonds will be
como due and pnyable by the city of
Eugene as foljows: On the first day
of January, 1948, principal and In
terest pnyable at a place to be agreed
upon by purrhaser and city.
That said bonds shall not be sold
for less than their par value; that In
addition to the general obligation of
tho said city, the said bonds when
sold shall bo a first and exclusive
lien on all lands, rlghti-of-way, ease
ments, wnter rights, pipe lines, struc
tures and appliances of every kind
composing the water system to be se
cured with the money derived from
the sale of said bonds; that the com
mon council reserve the right of re
jecting nny and all bids.

and disposed of under and pursuant
to the terms of the act, "To reincor
porate tho city of Eugene, and to re
peal all arts and parts of acts In con
flict herewith," filed In the office
of the secretary of state February IS,
1 905, and the amendments thereto
passed and enacted by the people of
the city of Eugene on the 15th dav
of April. 190S.
