    A SAFE HOME TREATMENT
la S. S. S. nature has provided e certain, safe, home cure for Contagious
Blood Poison. It is a medicine made entirely of roots and herbs of recog
nized blood-purifying value, and is the one medicine which is able to get
down to the root of the trouble and remove every particle of the virus, and
at the same time benefit and build up the system and general health. No
harmful effects ever follow its use, as is so often the case when strong min.
eral medicines are used. As soon as the system gets under the influence of
S S. S the disease begins to improve, and when the remedy has thoroughly
purified the blood and driven out every trace of the poison, no signs of the
trouble are ever seen again. The general manifestations of Contagious
Blood Poison such as falling hair, copper-colored spots, ulcerated mouth and
throat, sores and ulcers, etc., are merely symptoms of the poisoned condi
tion of the blood, and in most cases respond quickly to local treatment,
while S. S. S. is doing the necessary work of cleansing the blood. Our
'Home Tr'atnient " book is of great assistance along this line. It is a
complete gaide for treating the trouble, containing instructions for the
different stusres of the disease, and also valuable suggestions about the local
treatment, tliat will be most helpful in effecting a cure. W will be glad
to send a copy of this book, free of charge, to any who de.iue it, and if
special meiii ; advice is wanted our physicians will take pleasure in sup
plying it without cost to the patient. If you are suffering with Conta
gious Blood Poison you can cure yourself in the privacy of vour own home
bv the use of S. S. S., an absolutely safe remedy.

FINE FARM OF
GEORGE A. DORRIS
NEAR SPRINGFIELD
Last Wednesday the editor of the
News strolled across the hill south
of Springfield and by chance visited
the ranch of Geo. Dorrls, which un-
I til recently had the distinction of be
na the banner hoo ranch in the
world. To our surprise Mr. Dorrls
has dug up his hop yard entirely
and has converted his ranch into
fruit and vegetable raining of a less
common nature. The first aspara
gus tied that we have ever seen of
any size we saw on this ranch. Mr
Dorr's now has In different beds, ov-
er 25 acres, but at the present time
he Is only cutting about 12 acres,
ths other not being old enough.
Off Ihn 12 MPrpa hn la rmw prittfnir
rtrom 700 to 1000 pounds dally, and
finds a ready market ut the very top
price. It bringing him 10 cents
pound In Portland. Next year he ex
pects to cut about 2000 pounds
dally from his different beds. Tie al.
so has 7 acres of strawberries that
promise an enormous yield. His
crops ere so arranged that one bar
vest follows another, and as soon as
the asparagus crop Is out of the way
which lasts through ' April and May,
the berries are ready to pick. Then
comes his cherries of which he has
20 acres. After this crop is off the
peaches are next, of which he has
about 2ft acreB. Then comes his
grape harvest, followed by a 25 acre
crop .of walnuts. Mr. Dorrls has his
different crops arranged so that one
follows the other with a short inter
mission between, Just long enough
to get In readiness. His Is a typical
ranch for diversified farming and Is
one of the largest for its size In Lane
county. ' Mr: Dorrls is now having
In his employ fifteen men. - When
his fruR comes on it will require
much more help to take care of It.
The crops are so arranged that he
will have a harvest on eight months
In the year and the products of each
crop will find a ready market In
Portland and Seattle. Springfield

one which meets all trains, the same
as a bus, goes down from Falrmount
