Theso men are mostly new to the
game, but the effect of hard, consis
tent practice under the direction of
an efficient coach la shown In their
fast work and It Is safe to say that

by Ben Chandler, Owynn Watson and
either John Ellis or Wendell Bar
bour. As both teams have played several
games they should be practically

The game will be called at 3:80
Thursday afternoon. Admission will
be 2d cents at the gnto and 10 cents
at the grandstand. Ladles, however,
will be admitted free to the grand
stand on tomorrow afternoon. Hen
Blnghnm, the well-known baseball
umpire, will officiate at tho game.

TOM L. JOHNSON.
Mayor of Cleveland, who Is one of
Ohio's offerings In the race for the
Democratic nomination for president.
After a several-years' battle which
he waged against the mighty traction
company, and at times when the
struggle appeared hopeless, his ef
forts were crowned with victory
shortly after midnight this morning,
when the final papers necessary to
the transfer of the operation of the
street car companies to the Munici
pal Traction Company, fostered by
Johnson, were exchanged. -Johnson
made his first fight for the three
cent fares In 1901. Within ten days
this fare will be In effect, with uni
versal transfer within 90 days.
