The first symptom off Coatagious Mood Poison is usuallft little sore or ulcer,
which is quickly followed by a red rash on the skin, swollen glands in the
(rain, falling hair, ulcerated mouth and throat, and often copper colored
splotches on different parts of the body. As the blood becomes more fully
contaminated with the poison, pustular eruptions and sores break out on
the flesh, and in rKtreme cases the nerves and hones are attacked and the
finger nails dropff. Then the sufferers find themselves diseased from head
To foot with this humiliating, vile and destructive poison. No other disease
it bo highly contagious ; many an innocent person has been Inoculated by
handling the clothing or using the toilet articles of an infected person.
There is but one certain, liable cure for Contagious Mood Poison, and that
US. S. S. It attacks the disease in the right way by going down into the
circulation, and neutralizing and forcing out
every particle of the poison. It makes the
blood pure and rich, tones up the system,
and completely and permanently cures this
disease. S. S. S. has cured thousands of cases
of Contagious Blood Poison. If yoo are suf
fering with this debasing and destructive
disease begin the use of S. S. S. and get the
roison out of your blood before it permanently wrecks your health. We
ave a homu treatment book on the disease which we will send free to all
who wish it, and in addition our physicians will give without charge any
Medical advice needed. JHE SWIFT SPECIFIC CO., ATLANTA, OA.

Portland. April 25. Representa
tives of the Seattle Amateur Athletic
Club came out with flying colors in
the three days' wreBtllng and boxing
tournament for the championships of
the Pacific cohhi which concluded
here tonight. Of Its entries only one,
William Speck, In the 12fj-otind boxing-class,
failed to take first place.
The boms throughout were Interest
ing, and though some of the con
testants were unevenly matched, most
of the antagonists who faced each
other showed practically enual ablll-
I ty. This was notable especially In
I the 135-pound wrestling event to
night, which went to V. Venable of
Seattle .over F. A. lirownell of the
Hcliance Clulr, of San Francisco. Ven
able threw his opponent after eleven
minutes and thirty-five seconds of the
hardest amateur wreHtllng ever seen
In this city. As it Is his victory is
not clear of question. After the men
had been at It for about eight min
utes Brownell managed to get Vena
ble's shoulders so close to the mat
that the spectators who were closest
to the wrestlers were confluent that
lirownell had secured a fall.
The total championships are as
follows: Seattle, 7; Mulnomah,' 3;
Spokane, 1; Olympic, 1.

EUGENE FLOUR MILL
COMPLAINS OF RATES
Salem, Or., April 25. J. M. Shel
ley, of Eugene, manager of the Eu
gene Mill &' Elevator Company, has
protested to the state railroad com
mission against a recent raise of near
ly 100 per cent in certain local
freight rates in that part of the state.
He encloses a shipping receipt show
ing t!int ho pays a rate of 23 cents
per 100 pounds on wheat and oats
from Eugene to Yoncalln, 4 4 miles,
which rule, he says, is excessive, un
just and unreasonable. Prior to Jan-
nary 1, 11107, tho rate was 14 cents.:
The rate for a little longer distance,
as, for instance, from Eugene to
lioseburg, Is now 31 cents, whereas
the former rate was 15 cents. This
is an Increase of over 100 per cent.
The railroad commission will investigate.
