SUNDAY AFTERNOON
The fans or Springfield will be
.treated to another baseball game to
morrow afternoon, when tho Blues
will meet tho fast team from Cottage
Grove. This will be the second game
for the Springfield team this season,
they having won the first last Sun
day from Junction City. The
grounds and grandstand have been
put in the best of shape and a Very
successful baseball season 4s ex.pect
ed. Last year Springfield was one
of the best baseball towns in Oregon
and there la no reason why the good
work oannot be kept' up. 'Spring
field's team will line tip ha follows:
Charles Murphy, the clever little
pitcher from Southern Oregon, will
be on the firing line, while Morgan,
a new man who caught for one of the
teams In the Memphis city league last
season, will be at the receiving end.
On first base will be found either
"Kod Pfc'ret or Andy Anderson. Sid
Smith will be in his old position at
second base, whllo Harry Hobbs will
again hold dpwn the difficult cor
ner. Mathews, who played In the
Oliio valley league,, will cover short.
The outfield wll be composed of
Moshberger, "Posey" Johnson and
Chandler, wllo played In the Coos
Hay league last summer. The Cot
tage Grove team is an unknown quan
tity, but as Cal ltrlggs Is managing
the team It is sate to say that it is
a .good one. Tho game will start
promptly at 3 o'clock, llusses will
ieave the Hofrman House at 2 o'colck
to accommodate the Kugene tans.

North Bend, Or., public schools, Is In

of a new high school building to he
erected this summer at North Bend.
