propitious for the occasion, the sun
shining brightly for the parade on
the streets in the forenoon and
bringing a large crowd out for the
exercises In the theatre.
The parade formed about 10:311
o'clock this forenoon in front of the
I. O. O. F. temple on Willanutte
street. It was 'lieaded by the prl't
the nitniliers of Spencer ISutte lodge
.N'o. 9, followed by the Kugent .Mili
tary band. Then came Canton Ho
vey, Patriarchs Militant, the uniform
rank of the Odd Fellows, followed la
the members of Spencer Unite dloilge
and Wiiuawliala encampment, the
Kebekulis bringin up the rear.
The parade extended over a block in
length and was admired by large
crowds en the streets. After a cir
cuit of several blocks the lodgenien
returned to the Kugene thearte. where
appropriate exercises were held.
There were also in the line of
march quite a number of members of
the Coburg, Crow, Springfield and
other lodges of the county, many
membsrs from outside the city be
ing here to help the local lodge men
celebrate.
This was the first eppearanee of
Canton Ilovcy. The members were
clad in ,1heir bright new uniforms
with illumed hats and presented a
striking appearance:
At the theatre this forenoon the
principal feature of the exercises was
an address by Colonel John M. Wil
liams, of tills city. He dwelt on the
history of the order and its growth
and progress during the past many
years since its organization.
This afternoon the exercises began

The stolen handkerchiefs were prln

middleweight and heavyweight cham
pionship of the fleet. On the heavy
