old officers were re-elected. They
are: Lee M. Travis, chairman: M.
A. Wallis. secretary, and S. S. Spen
cer, treasurer, it was decided to call

tho coming campaign. All candi
dates and members of the commit
tee are requested to be present.
While the Democrats realize that
they are very much in the minority
thv have hopes of securing at least
one office, that of sheriff, at the
election In June, and will work to
that end.
MINER PROPERTY SELLS
FOR THREE THOUSAND
The E. B. Miner residenre proper
ty nt the corner of West Sixth and
Washington streets was sold today
to J. N. Cole and Mitchell & Garrett
for $3000. The land consists or a
quarter block, Mr. Cole getting the
north half and Garrett & Mitchell
the smith half.
Garrett & Mitchell have sold to
Kred L. Drew and Elmer T. Smith a
lot owned by Mrs. Julia Jacobs at
the corner of Cheshire and Washing
ton streets. The purchasers, who are
employes of tile Kugene Lumber Co.
will build on the lots some time in
tho future.
The price paid for the property Is
not given out for publication.

STREET CARS IDLE
FOR SEVERAL HOURS
One of the fields on the generator
that furnishes electric power for the
street .coats burned out this forenoon
about 10 o'clock, and the cars were
stopped. The company wired to Al
bany for a new one and it arrived on
the afternoon train. The cars were
started again about 3 o'clock this af
ternoon. Many people missed them
and some were inconvenienced by
their being idle, but the accident was
unavoidable.
BOLD ROBBERY OF
HOT SPRINGS RESORT
Hot Springs, Ark., April 23. Four
masked men with leveled revolvers
forced the visitors at the Indiana
Club today to line up while they loot
ed the place. It is estimated they got
between $5000 and $10,000, after
which they locked the visitors in a
room and escaped.
