and Oak streets, preparatory to mov
ing it away. A portion of the build
ing will be torn down an'd .the re
mainder moved to a lot adjoining Mr.
Hall's warehouse, the. present storage
capacity being limited. I'oyner &
Hunt have the contract to move the
building.
The occupants of the old building
have all moved out, Mrs. Fox, the
milliner, being the latest. She moved
her stock of goods out this morning
and will be located tn the racket store
two doors wtst until a nwre suitable
location can be found. Condon's bak
ery moved yesterday, and is now lo-
I cated in the new Hulin block further
west on tile same street, Hamilton &
Van Orditrand's jti'iiMl'y Was moved
last week to th hew Barnard build
ing at the corner of West Eighth and
Charnelton. streets. .
.lust as soon as the old building Is
off the ground Carson Mathews will
begin the work of excavating for the
new block and It is expected that
brick work will begin about the mid
dle of May, or possibly before.

The first graduation of nurses
from the Eugene hospital took place
Saturday night, at which time Misses
Mary Duluth Owen, Nellie Eugenia
Workman and Constance Evelyn Han
cock received their diplomas, they
having spent three years at the insti
tution. The graduation exercises
were not public, and consisted of
nothing more than a bnnn.net under
the directum of Mrr J. T. Wilson. Be
sides the nurses and Dr. W. Kuyken-
Idall, the, superintendent of the hospi-
Ital, there were present Drs. D. A.
Paine, Geo. O'B. Deliar, Philip Bar
tie. B. F. Scalfe, L. E. McDougall and
Miss Holstrom, head nurse. Dr. Kuy
kendall addressed the graduates and
Dr. Pnine spoke. Miss Hancock made
a pretty speech in behalf of the grad
uates. ,
