The freight department at the S. P.
depot reports that many immigrants
are coming to Eugene from different
Pans of the East, a carload of
household goods and farming Imple
ments arriving nearly every day. The
colonist rates0 are bringing many
across the continent to Oregon, and
Ens ne seems to he getting her share

ing well advertised by the promotion
department of the Commercial Club,
as well as by the fact that there Is
more building going on and more
public improvement!! being made here
than in any city of the state. This
morning Charles E. Michaels and
family, from Ogden. I'taii. arrived,
having been attracted here bv the
Commercial Club's literature. Mr.
Michaels called at the club and is
now being shown about the city, lie
is a merchant and expects to engage
in .-time kind of business if he can
find a suitable location.
