There are a great many hobos In
town right now. and the police offi
cers are kept busy looking out after
the petty depredutions that they are
wont to commit. Some of tho travel
ers are rather tough characters, but
the majority of them are working
men ha.vlng been thrown out of em
ployment at the beginning of the ro
cent panic. A burglary was commit
ted at the residence of Nate Woods
at the corner of West Twelfth and
Chnrnelton streets, some time last
night. While the family was asleep
upstairs some one entered the house
and took a razor and some coffee.
Nothing else was mlsed. The bur
glar used a pass key to open the out
er door and left it on a table in the
kitchen.
Night before last some wanderer
broke Into the basement at T. G.
Hendricks' residence at West Ninth
and Chainelton streets, and slept all
night beside the furnace. When he
left in the morning he took a pair
of shoes and an old overcoat.
