this afternoon. William Nusbaum,
assistant driver, was on duty at the
time of the alarm, and he hitched
the team and drove out to the scene
of the fire in almost record time. It
was found that a defective flue in
the residence had caused the wood
work around It to ignite and the
house was full of smoke when the
department arrived. A stream from
the chemical hose soon extinguished
the blaze and very little damage was
done.
