W. H. LaFayette. of Coeur d'Alene,
Idaho has been in Eugene for the
past several days and has decided to
locate here and. engage in the trans
fer business'. He leaves on this even
ing's train for home and will move
his family here about the tenth or
April. He will buy a tract of If nd
on the outskirts of the'flty, also a
residence -lot.
The work of raising the floor in
Kay's gun store was begun this morn
ing ad will occupy a greater part of
this week. The work of taking out
the goods was begun Saturday night
and continued all forenoon yester
day. The floor will be raised five
and a half Inches to make It level
with the Bidewalk In front, which was
raised when the pavement was laid
last summer.
Manager Ormond Beon, of the Uni
versity track team, announres that
the seat sale for the. indoor track
meet at the armory on the evening or
March 6. will open tomorrow at
Watts' Jewelry store. The first row
of the' balcony will be reserved, the
price being -BO cents. The general
admission will be 35 cents. Perhaps
30 or 0 men will take part In the va
rious events of the meet. The night
officially opens the spring track sea
son for The Oregon team. Wrestling
and- a tug-of-wnr will also be Included.
