Saturday evening at Albany the Eu

Eugene 1 0 l.uOO
Hoseburg 1 0 1.000
Salem 1 1 .500
Albany . . 0 2 .000
The next game for Eugene will be
with the high school's old rival, Ash

years the local team has been defeated
by the club. However, the boy's are
playing "good ball" this year and
feel that tney will have a good chance
to even up old scores. For Ashland

have been with the club for five years
and know the game "from a lo .."
The game promises to be fast. As a

Tlie shah of Persia was chatting
with his prime minister.
"Havo a care of your women," said
the minister. "They are treacherous
and oftentimes as ambitious for pow

"What, Menu? She Is devoted to
me."
"Do not trust her."
"You are a good adviser on affairs

you that she is true to mo I will put
her In my place. You will see how
readily she will resign it nt my re

"Your majesty"
"I have spoken."
The minister knew that to protest
would cost him his head and with

came, and the shah said lu her:
"You are my favorite of njl my woni

long as you live."
Menu gave the sovereign a reproacliJ

my lord. Nevertheless 1 know that
when your royal word has passed no
one is great enough to gainsay It."
So the shah signed an edict resfgnlng
his power to his concubine, and she
was proclaimed In his stead. Menu
was the daughter of one of the princi

after she was proclaimed the com

her father put lu his place. The prime

away by Menu's order, but he was no
where to be found. The grand cham

Instead of asking for his scepter to be
returned to him he" began lo make

He was too late. On the second morn

Meanwhile Menn instituted several
reforms that had been long wauled by
the ex-shah's subjects, and they were
