"Hustle" is the watch
word of all ambitious candi
dates from now on, who
wish to figure when the up

trips and the scholarship
prizes are awarded. '
The voting during the past 4 8
hours was unusually heavy, and many
candidates Increased their totals ma
terially as the result of the special
offer of votes that was in force dur
ing the past week. A number of the
candidates who won the special 5000
vote coupons cast them, while others
went to their reserve forc?s, to cast
them some time In the near future.
The most noticeable ehung" lu the
lineup of vr.tes is that of Miss Maud
Lewis, of .Marrola. She polled 11.
758 votes Saturday in addition to the
amount previously published, which
places her name firs', over the 20,
000 mark.
Among the ntner candidates whose
friends polled hOiih or inoru votes
were .Mls3 Mahle Johnson is district
number one, Miss Itetia linker of llls
'rlct number two. Misses Georgia
N'eff, Madallne Ilettps, of Cohort:, Kf
'ie Wlthrow, of Springfield, .and
(lenevleve Howe, of Cr-swell. all of
district number four. Fifteen cmdi
dates have already passed the 10,000
mark, and it is a safe prediction that
thev and many others will have pau
sed the 20.0i)fl mark before this week
passes. However, the fa.'t of tipp

GREAT CROWD AT
CHRISTIAN REVIVAL
The revival meetings just begun at
the Christian church under the lead
ership of Dr, S. M. Martin, of Seattle,
promise to eclipse any other meeting
ever held at the church, if tho attend
ance aud Interest the first two even
ings are a criterion to go by. At Sun
day night's service every available
inch of space In the largo nnditoritini,
tho gallery and tho Sunday school
room was filled and many who were
unable to gain admittance were turn
ed away. Dr. Martin's sermon on
"Progress" was listened to attentive
ly by the vast throng. The address
was a masterpiece and punctuated
frequently with wit and humor that
kept the audience In a nappy frame
of mind all through the services. Dr.
Martin In his sermon handled the
non-progrcsslye church members
rough shod, and no doubt every mem
ber of the church who was present
last night went home resolved to
take a more active part in the affairs
of the chiurch.
Tonight Dr. Martin speaks on
"Christian Soldiers." At last night's
services he announced that he would
deliver an address to men and boys
only next Sunday afternoon, and the
following Sunday he will speak to the
women and girls.
The music under the aide direction
of Professor Davis is excellent, and
the large choir is assisted by an or
chestra. XOKMAL SCHOOL OFFERS
