night and this morning about 3
o'clock, being unable to sleep, he
arose and walked to the lounge in
the sitting room. He lay down and
expired a few minutes afterward.

scheme to develop the coal deposits
south of the city, arrived up from
Portland last night and drove out to
the mine this morning. He informed
the reporter that the company will at
once commence the work of boring
for oil on the property, at the same
time continuing the work of coal de
velopment. He says the necessary
machinery for the boring operations
has been ordered and he will select
the site for the drill while he is out
there today.
Mr. Hutchings says that Dr. Wing
Lee, the Chinese capitalist, who has
been Dr.ojp.ted with the company In
this project, is now out of the com
pany and n ;w capital has been In

erford, of Portland, and Mrs. M. A.
Brown, of Grants Pass: two half

The funeral will be held tomorrow
afternoon at 2 o'clock at the family

The remains will be Interred in the
Pearl Carroll, of Grants Pass.
