Dr. (J. S Wright, ftate senator

chair of pedagogy at the stute uni- j

"Senator Wright has three things
he wishes to see accomplished by the
next legislature. First, he wishes
to see a board of control, to be ap
pointed by the governor, established.
to have oontrol over all the state ed
ucational institutions. He thinks
that this board should consist of busi

second plan is to have a chair of ped

a bill ought to be passed, taxing all

HELMET AMUSEMENT
CLUB REORGANIZED
Popular Organization Composed of
Members of Local Lodge Knights
of Pythias Will Give Card and
Dancing Parties
At the regular meeting of Helmet
lodge No. 33, Knights of Pyhtias, last
evening, the Helmet Amusement
Club, a very popular social organiza
tion in existence about ten years ago,
was reorganized. The temporary of
ficers chosen were : President, Harry
A. Dunbar ; vice president, G. Walter
Griffin; secretary, 1. T. Nicklin;
treasurer, Darwin E, Yoran.
The officers constitute a committee
to draft constitution and by-laws and
will report at the next meeting of the
lodge.
The membership of the club will be
oonflned exclusively to members of
the lodge. It is the purpose of tbe
organization to give a series of par
ties during the winter, probably once
every fortnight. Dancing and card
parties will probably alternate.
This club during its previous exist
ence was one of the most popular
social organizations ever formed in
Eugene. Some splendid parties were
held and outsiders who received in
yitatoins to attend considered them
selves very fortunate.

"My little son, when about a year
and a half old, began to have sores
come out on his face. I had a phy
sician treat him,
but the sores grew
worse Then they
began to come on
his arms, then on
other parts of his
body, and then one
came on his chest,
worse than the
others. Then I cull
ed another Dhvsi-
cian. Still he grew worse. At the end
of about a year and a half of suffering
he grew so bad I had to tie his hands
in cloths at night to keep him from
scratching thesoresand tearing the flesh.
" He got to be a mere skeleton, and
was hardly able to walk. My Aunt
advised me to try Cuticura Soap and
Ointment. So great was her faith in
It thut she gave me a small piece of
Bonp to try and a little of the Oint
ment I took it home without any
faith, but to please her I tried it, and
it seemed to dry up the sores a little.
"I sent to tho drug store and got a
cake of the Sonp and a box of the
Ointment and followed the directions,
and at the end of about two months
the sores were all well. He has
never had any sores of any kind since.
"He is now strong and healthy,
and I can sincerely say that only for
your most wonderful remedies my
precious child would have died from
those terrible sores. I used only one
cake of Soap and about three boxes
of Ointment (signed) Mrs. Eg
