a new law was paw-td lb regard to the
collection of taxes, wtileli law took ef
fect on December lit, 1801, aud In sub
stance Is as follows!
1. If you psy jnur taxes on or be
fore Marob 16th you will be allowed a
ret ate of three peroent.
2. If you pay your laxaa berwa-o
March 1Mb and up to and Including
tbe Srat Monday In April there will
not be any rebate and tieUber will
there' be any penalty or . interest
added.
S. If your taxes are not paid on or
before tbe Aral Monday of April, they
will beoome delinquent, wben there
will be added a penalty of '10 per cent,.
aud the tax will alee draw 'Internet -at
tbe rate of 12 per cent per annum 1b
addition to tbe penalty.
4. If you pay one-half of your taxes
on or before tbe flrnt Monday In April
then tbe remaining half may run up
to aud Including the drat Mondy In

of tax due Is not paid ty tbe first Mon
day of Ootober, It beuomes delinquent,
aud there will be added tosucb bslenoe,

if one-half is not paid on or before the

one-half to be paid as above stated.

ceived at the sheriffs office March 1st,

1901 taxes rsoelvcd prior to that date
will be filed aud promptly attended to
as soon as the books are open for pay
