Warden Van Dusen todav shows that 58.012,941 voune
salmon were hatched at the several hatcheries this season
most all of which hav been turnad into the Columbia
River. The output for the season is as fallows:
Oregon state hatcheries 15,543,400.
Washington state hatcheries 18,443,000.
United States hatcheries 24,335,541.

ionaire Rice, has confessed to the murder of tho aged mil
lionaire.
At the instigation of Albert Patrick, who forged a will
in his own favor, Jones confesses that he chloroformed Rice
while he slept.

death had come.
Undertaker J W Kavs was also sent

prepare them for burial.
Mr Andara waa a well known anil
highly respected oltlzen of SDrlnnfleld
and was aged about 45 years. He waa
a former oounollman of that oity, was
an Odd Fellow and belonged to
Sprlngfleld oarup, Woodmen of the
World. He leaves a wife and four
ehildren three boys and one girl,
His wife is nearlv nroatrated hv the
shock and the family has tbesympatny
of all In their sudden bereavement.
No arrangements have as vet been
made for the funeral.

ting better and will recover, the seven-
year-old daughter Is In a orltloal con
dition and there is but little hops for
her recovery.

was oaused by the acid in the toma
toes acting on the tin.
