made to release himself. The boy
was lifted tenderly from the grave
and taken to tho station of the
Northwest Mounti d Police, where
he died after a few hours suffering.

age.

Law.
At tb last swwioii uf tbe legislature
a new law was pkMcd iu rnanl to the
collection of taxes, whlcb law took ef-
f.ct ou Deoeuiber let, 1901, aud In sub
stance Is a follows:
1. If you pay jour taxes ou or be
fore) Marob 16tb you will be allowed a
relate of three per oent.
If you pay yoor taxes between
Marob lotb and up to and including
tbe Unit Monday in April there will
not be aoy reuale aud .neither will
there be any peualty or Interest
added.
8. If your taxes are not paid on or
before tbe first Monday of April, tbey
will beoome delinquent, when there
will be added e penalty of 10 per pent,
and the lax will also draw Interest at
the rate of 12 per cent per annum 1b
addition to the penalty.
4. If you pay one-half of your taxes
on or before tbe flrat Monday In April
then the remaining half may run up
to and looludlog tbe first Monday tn
Ootober following; but If tbe last half
of tax due is not paid ty tbe first Mon.
day of Ootober, it beoomes delinquent,
