paramount issue of tbe campaign of
1800," was debated. Tbe speakers on
tbe affirmative were Hooker and
Van Dyke. Tbe negative, wbloh won
the debate, was supported by Jakwsy
and Redmond. Several names were
voted on for membership in tbe eo-
olety. The meeting et tbe evening
was of unusual snap and vigor. Offloers
were nominated and election will be
held next Friday evening. The society
ball has been provided with electric
